It's absolutely fine! If your baby is eating solids than go ahead and give her some juice! If it's baby juice, give it to her as is, if it's adult prune juice, dilute it 1/2 to 1/2.

Just make sure that you are not giving her more than 4-6 oz. of juice per day, otherwise she may choose to skip her nutritious meals or formula/breastmilk and get full from the juice!

Good luck!

My baby is only a couple months older and I feed him a jar of prunes (baby food) when he's constipated. From what I've read juice is OK. If it's adult juice I suggest 50/50 mix of juice and water because the sugar content can cause dehydration.

Call the nurse at the pediatricians office for a definative answer.

I have a two year old who is now on medication for constipation. When she first started getting constipated around one, I tried everything and gave her apple juice because I thought that she needed lots of fluids. She now sees a gastrointestinal specialist and I have been told that apple juice is constipating. I would just stick to the prune juice. I would check with the doctor on how much. I think your only supposed to give them around two ounces a day. Good luck

It is fine to give her juice just dilute 1/2 with water and only give her one kind of juice every 2 weeks to a month until you introduce a new flavor so if she is allergic you will know which juice did it.

Doctors say keep a baby off of juice for as long as possible. A suggestion would be to give the baby prune baby food, it really works just as good if not better.

It is fine. Just put some water in it to dilute it because juice has a lot of sugar. But it's absolutely fine to give juices like apple, pear, grape, etc. Most babies don't prefer orange juice or cranberry cuz it's kind of bitter to them.

As long as you make it half water and half juice she should be fine. I did this with my daughter when she was this little with the same problem. I only had to do it one time because within 30 minutes we had a FULL diaper. Also lots of gas, so be prepared for the cranky gas cries that babies get. When this happens just lay her on your lap and rub or pat her on the back to help loosen it up so it can come out.

It wont hurt them if you just give them a little bit but try not to make a habit out of it. You could also try taking peppermint candy (like a ncandy cane or those red and white candies you get after dinner) and crushing it up really good and putting some of it in a bottle of hot water...when it cools down enough give that to them it relieves a lot of stuff, constipation, gas and stomach aches....plus baby loves the taste......good luck and I hope this helps.......
