I have had Bt Broadband for 2 months and a BT phone line for 4 months, already they have made 4 errors on my account regarding service and billing. Including telling me that I had exceeded my broadband usage by 9000 gb!!! which would incur extra charges of £2742.90. A manager of Bt left a message on my answerphone where she is sniggering under her breath saying 'Don't have a heart attack'.
This is the apology I got and don't think it's good enough!
Can i terminate the contract?

I am suprised you even use them. I hate BT.

Write a letter to their customer service department saying you want to end your contract as soon as they effectively recieve your letter. Look on the net for UK-online or Orange boradband. Pick the one which suits you the most (but you will have to use BT landline, although BT won't bother you about it). Alternativly you can choose NTL which I have heard is pretty good.

First if you are in contract you would most likely need to see it out.

If you need to call and raise a complaint, point out you are not happy with the attitude of the manager that was dealing with it.

9000gb is probably impossible to use in a month or even a quarter.

I was with BT before and am intending to go back to them as I'm sick of having to call 0870 numbers with any call I make to my present supplier.

They are a MONOPOLY. In plain English this means that they can slack, do whaqtever they want and get away with it because they know they have no competition. I doubt you can cancel the contract without incuring penalty charges that they will take from your card or affecting your credit rating negatively but you should try.

Terminating your contract should always be the last resort.I had similar problem with them,i called them on 0800 which is free of charge and we were able to rectify the problem.I believe yours could be solved in that manner.Contact them and explain to them calmly they will do everything in their means to sort you out.I do not work for BT but i will strongly recommend them to anybody, their customer services is brilliant.Good luck
