Ifi plug it into (wireless broadband) my laptop and then press the wireless button on my laptop i get another connection 54 mpbs aswell. P.S. I'm only paying £15.98 per month and the price hasn't gone up ever. I have it now for 4 years. I have also told my provider that i am getting this speed and they said because your house is in a wireless zone. Does anyone else have what i got. I'm living in England by the way.

The 54mbps is the speed of the wireless connection between your laptop and your wireless router.

The speed of your internet connection still remains at 10mbps

Hi Robin and Lee have answered the question correcly. The 2 in the middle obviously have their wires or wireless crossed. I don't know of any isp giving us 54mbps yet, but if you know where they do let me know and I will move. Here in Hull we are stuck with 1 isp, yes, only 1 isp. I have to pay £19.99 for an up to 8 meg download, which is 5 meg if the wind is blowing in the right direction and has only a 380kpbs upload. On a bad day we mabe get about 1 meg download. You had 10 meg for 4 years. Wow, that's good.

yes what your ISP told you is true - when you are in a wireless zone there is every tendency for you to witness 54mbps.Don't worry they won't charge for it.

The 54mb your picking up is your network speed.
