The term “Final Solution” (Die Endlösung) was a euphemism. Himmler was fully prepared to talk about killing to his immediate subordinates, but much of the Nazi killing machine was shrouded in bureaucratic euphemism. The doctors and administrators charged with murdering ‘incurables’ were the ‘Public Ambulance Service Ltd’ (Gemeinnützige Krankentransport GmbH); the motorized death squads which first went into action in Poland in 1939 were ‘task forces’ (Einsatzgruppen); the massacre of nearly 34,000 Jews in the ravine of Babi-Yar after the capture of Kiev in September 1941 was a ‘major operation’ (Gross-Aktiori). People identified for extermination in official Nazi documents were listed as those to be given ‘special treatment’ (Sonderbehandlung), sometimes abbreviated to ‘SB’, and from roughly mid-1943 the term ‘special lodging’ (Sonderunterbringung) was also used.

Holocaust describe the killing of approximately six million European Jews during World War II, as part of a program of deliberate extermination planned and executed by the National Socialist regime in Germany led by Adolf Hitler. [1]

Other groups were also persecuted and killed by the regime, including 220,000 Sinti and Roma (see Porajmos), as well as the disabled (see Action T4), homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, Soviet POWs, Polish citizens, and political prisoners. [2][3]

Many scholars do not include these groups in the definition of the Holocaust, defining it as the genocide of the Jews, or what the Nazis called the "Final Solution of the Jewish Question" ("Die Endlösung der Judenfrage"). Taking into account all the victims of Nazi persecution, the death toll rises considerably; estimates generally place the total number of victims at nine to 11 million.[4]

The Holocaust and the Final Solution are physically the same or the final solution resulted in the Holocaust.

Nazis Germany original plans were to remove Jews and other non desirable from Germany. When Germany went to war they captured countries where they had expelled a number of these people and had this problem again. In January 1942 Himmler, Heydrich, and Eichman entered into a debate over the "Jewish problem" and what to do about it. Until that point the object was to remove them, expel them, etc. but when Germany overran Europe and Russia they got back most of the Jews that they had expelled. Compounded the problem that they had. In there bent and twisted minds this was a continuation of various policies, first that separated the Jews from society, then stripped them of there rights, property, expulsion etc. Now the "Final Solution" to this problem was the decision to exterminate them. Industrial genocide.

The Nazi's had been killing jews for several years trying different methods to kill as many as possible, first they simply got large numbers of Jews together and shot them (took too long and then had to bury/hide all the bodies) then they invented trucks that were sealed, people would get into the back, and get shut in then the engine was run and the exhaust gas pumped into the back. (didn't kill enough people fast enough, plus was a waste of petrol) In 1941 all the senior nazi's met in berlin to discuss how they could deal with this situation they wanted an way (a solution) to kill and then dispose of large numbers of people, quickly, efficiently and cheaply. The 'Final Solution' was the idea they came up with to deal with the 'Jewish problem', all the others they had tried and didn't like, so they came up with the idea of building Special gas chambers to kill large numbers quickly, next to large ovens to dispose of all the bodies all placed in large prison camps close to major railway lines. they believed this idea was so good they wouldn't need any other ideas so it was termed the final solution. simply put people from across Europe on trains send them to these secure, remote camps, sort them out, put them into groups, send the groups into the chambers though the front door, gas them, remove the bodies via the back door, send in the next group, take the bodies to the ovens and then repeat. so efficient was this method that at one camp in Poland during 1943, 99.9% of the people who arrived there were dead within 40 minutes of getting off the train So the Final Solution is just part of the Holocaust, before the final solution the germans had managed to kill just over 1 million jews via other methods after they adopted the final solution they killed a further 5 million jews (plus millions of others)
