A democracy is supposed to give all people, regardless of their ethnicity, sex, economic status, religion, etc, a voice, vote, chance to succeed. yet since, in America, and Europe, racism, sexism, classism, etc are rampant, is it that these regions are UNDEMOCRATIC, or is DEMOCRACY itself flawed!?!?

Democracy is very flawed, yet it is the best of the governmental systems out there. Plus, one cannot account for each member of the society. Although anarchists may live and exist in countries using every form of government, does this make it less communistic, democratic, totalitarian........?

Well...I agree with the person above who says it's people that are flawed and not "the system."

But "democracy" as a philosophy doesn't give a darn about racism, sexism, etc. Democracy is only a system where the citizens vote to elect leaders and decide issues -- nothing more. It guarantees nothing other than the ability to vote.
In pure democracy, the majority could vote to outlaw anything they want, even if it's racist or sexist...such as inter-racial marriages, women having the right to own property, etc.

That's why we have a constitution in the US that guarantees certain rights that are NOT "votable" out of existence by the people. The founders considered these fundamental human rights that were not subject to the will of the people. But even they got it wrong -- they didn't consider slaves or women "people," just property. As such they were a product of their times. It's taken us hundreds of years to bring our constitutional law around to extending these rights to nearly all people (though many are still denied rights because of sexual orientation and other silly reasons). Humans are racist, sexist, and have all sorts of other biases -- pure democracy doesn't provide any protection from theose predjudices -- constitutional law does. And it's still evolving along with our society. :)

Democracy= neocortical, forebrained thinking.
Life= overall brain functioning, which does not respond well at all times to higher learning.
!!!
Now, we need for the forebrain to eveolve, but that will only happen if all of the democratic people (not the party, mind you) go around and KILL everyone who's not listening to higher ideals.
Except that is NOT a very democratic notion.'
So, basically, democracy is anti-evolution, and will never take real hold in the world.
To the victor go the spoils, and the more substantial gene pool.
Sorry, there are Higher Laws than our own.

Well, the United States isn't a democracy anyway. Not like Switzerland. They vote on whether to go to war. We may elect a representative, but they don't ever REALLY work for us. They have their own agendas, and will say anything to get elected. Then they do as they please. The U.S. is a republic, not a democracy. (It says so in the Pledge of Allegiance.)

It is the people within the Democracy that are flawed- not the system itself. The system is just a set of doctrines for all to live and abide by, however there are lots of people who dont.

Its ok though- no one wants bigots and haters- they should all just disappear.
