How young adult are you talking? I got married at 26, I love being married. Many young adults marry for the wrong reasons though. I think 26 was a good age to get married, old enough to have lived some crazy times and got them out of my system!

I don't think it's an either/or proposition. It's not that they lack morals, I just think today's young people do not understand what kind of committment marriage entails. They see it as something that adults do, and if it doesn't work out, they can get a divorce and try again.

I don't agree with this position, but that's what I observe.

If you are addressing the living together prior to or instead of marriage, then you need to reword your question.

It's all about choice. My generation is offered so many different choices, why not with partners too? we can be anything we want when we grow up. If we make good money, we can buy whatever we want. We may get into a great relationship, but fear of not being able to "choose" a better fitting mate may override the desire for marriage. Especially with so many marriages ending in divorce. They don't want to go there. I am in love with a man who will not leave a 4 year relationship, but has thought about it. He says it is nice to know he has options. He is as good as married, though. he will not even give me a chance. So it is not all about marriage. You can be tied to someone regardless.

Marriage has nothing to do with morals. Ther are many evil people that are married. Maybe if you get your onetrack mind out of the sand or should i say bible, you could think and judge for yourself what morals actually mean and not just what someone tells you they mean!
