Were you trying to access a torrent or P2P site. A lot of sites like that have been shut down and this is just to scare you, don't worry about it. First off they may not even really logging it, just setting it to show you your IP and scare you away from the site or they may really be recording it, and you know what, out of the million of people who visit it, there is like 1 out of a all the people who visited that you would get in trouble.

Short answer is that your IP address was recorded. That doesn't necessarily mean you've been locked out anything. However, if whoever logged your IP address wants to hand it over to law enforcement (and you've downloaded something illegal), they can.

IP addresses are how internet traffic is routed. Thus, your IP address is visible any time you visit any website or use any internet application; this is simply how the internet directs traffic. You don't have anything to worry about unless you were doing something illegal.

I've got news for you, your IP address is ALWAYS being logged whenever you go online.

Sites that point this out are usually scaremongering.

Bearshare? are you one of those nit-wits engaging in Copyright Infringement without using a proxy server??!?!?!?!
