Yes, at least on planet Earth it is. Cats, bats, dogs, tigers, mice, and other mammals do not share that something extra which primates possess. Whether different life forms on other planets have this ability is not within our realm of knowledge, but on Earth, for example, ant colonies have existed for untold millions of years, but have their ant hills ever developed into skyscrapers, as in New York City? Have the nests of birds ever evolved into arboreal palaces? This is because ants and birds are driven by instinct, not intellectual ability. It is the human being's superior mental capacity which gives him or her the potential to invent, to discover, and to create that which never existed before.
