I have a ps2 And it has just started to not read discs I have tried cleaning discs even though new If any one has had similar probs please help me (ps2 is not under guarantee any more so cant take It Back)

I think you should buy a lens cleaner disc and try run that.

If that doesn't help, you can pay to have it serviced but not sure what they charge and to be honest it may be only slightly more to replace it with a new one.

It's sad but technology today is disposable.

its a marketing ploy by sony.microsoft done the same with the xbox.
what happens is the console has a life expectancy.they are all designed to pack up by the time the ps3 is released so instead of renewing the ps2 the consumer waits and buys a ps3.its a sure fire way for sony to make money.

dont try and clean it, it wont work and wastes your time and money

they all go through this problem at some stage, likely to be the lens which isn't working properly but they're so cheap now you might as well buy a new one than have to repair it. Ebay probably do some good deals on a second hand one too.

Also, do you have it standing uprite? If so, try it on its side, might help.
