I love Hayao Miyazaki's films and anything else done by Studio Ghibli. I canNOT wait for Tales of Earthsea to be released (their latest film, released in Japan in July 2006). Whoops....sorry for that tangent!
I'm really torn as to what Miyazaki film is my favorite. I know my absolute favorite is "Whisper of the Heart". It was produced by Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki didn't direct it but he did the screenplay. It's a tale of love and loyalty.
I guess my favorite directed Miyazaki film is Howl's Moving Castle.

I think my favorite is Spirited Away. The little girl really reminds me of a little girl I know. I thought the spirit temples were interesting. I love the moral lessons against gluttonly when her parents were turned into pigs, and I loved how the little girl was very self centered at the beginning, but she endured a lot to save her parents and by the end had become more self reliant and more caring for others. "Sen! Sen! What have you done to me, Sen!" is one of my favorite phrases, especially if I get something like the stomach flu. Gotta love any film that gives you catch phrases. I also love the good/evil twins Yubabba and her sister.
Close runner up, I really like My Neighbor Totoro. I guess it's the big cuddly creature, and the scene in the rain at the bus stop is fantastic. I also think the Catbus is completely brilliant. I would love a ride on the catbus.
LOL
Howl's Moving Castle was completely fascinating to me, I loved how it moved to different locales and I never knew fully what on earth was going on, but I still liked it.
When I have time to really sit and focus on a movie, I want to see Porco Rosso, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Castle in the Sky.
I have them, but I can only seem to see them in bits and pieces (I have 4 kids so always interruptions)
The only one I haven't really liked so far was Princess Mononoke. It is a little too dark for me. Although I of course love the art , the imagery and the excellent animation.
