I think it comes down to ideology. The republicans do not believe that the country is made stronger through entitlement programs. And tax cuts to "the rich" depends on what you consider "rich." The democrats consider anyone making above $50,000 a year to be wealthy. The republicans would believe that it is selfish for a person to live on entitlements at the expense of taxpayers when they are able-bodied and capable, and that doing what is best for the country would be to limit entitlement programs.

Your statements don't have any logic or truth to them.
1. Who are the common people of America?
2. If your idea of protecting the environment is to sign the Kyoto treaty(which by the way would hurt the "common" people greatly), President Clinton wouldn't sign either.
3. What civil liberties do homosexuals want--they have the same rights that every other American has.
4. Tax cuts benefit every American by boosting the economy.
5. Upper class white men are Americans too.
6. Raising the minimum wage is a farce--whatever happened to making more money by self-improvement.
7. It's not the job of government to take care of your every want.

What on earth are you reading? President Bush Sr. passed the Clean Air Act. No Republican that I know, wants to take away civil liberties from homosexuals. Tax cuts benefit everyone. And a little reminder, the lower 50% of wage earners in this country pay almost nothing compared to the top 50%. You wouldn't have national social programs without the rich in this country! Next time you need a job, go see a poor guy!

OK here we go. Let's take your life for instance Republicans are like your Mom and Dad. Mom and dad Love you very much but made you go to school, Why? so you can grow and because someday you need to take care of yourself. If they were like Dems they would have said just hang out and be happy and then they would get all smiles as they told you they were "gonna Raise your Allowance son!"
We Have done quite a bit towards Clean air and water. We believe we can accomplish this through science and advancement in technology instead of ways that would crush the economy and leave people starving and poor. Please remember that less than 1% of the people RELY on minimum wage. Now to TAX cuts, the republicans want to give everybody that works a tax cut, the Dems want to tax everyone that works and give that money to people that do not want to work. Which breeds more people that do not want to work. Why work if food clothing and shelter are FREE. eventually nobody wants to work cause it is sooo easy to just lay there Right Son?

How fair is it that the upper income earners pay the majority of all the taxes paid in the US? Wouldn't it be more fair for everyone to pay the same rate of taxes, say 15% of your income, for example, despite how much your income really is?
The way it's set up now, it's a redistribution of wealth. The government is trying to make the rich people just as poor as the poor people, and that's not fair at all. You don't punish success, you encourage it.
We don't support some of environmental issues, say global warming for example, because it's based on scientific consensus, not scientific method proven fact.
We don't support the civil liberties of homosexuals because:
One: We believe in GOD,and the teachings within the Bible. According to the Bible, homosexuality is an abomination, and therefore not acceptable to society.
Two: The double standards that would apply to the gay and lesbian communities. If we accepted the idea that gays and lesbian have the same rights as a straight black man or woman, a straight white man or woman, do you think a straight white male would be equal to a black lesbian? No, they wouldn't...a black lesbian would have more special treatment afforded them than the straight white guy. How fair is that?
The Liberals, and the government wants to attach labels to everything in regards to civil legislation. No one group should have favor over another.
Imagine for a moment that every American looks like a soup can, or canned fruit or vegetable like you would see at a grocery store. We all have our different labels...some folks are green beans...some folks are chicken noodle soup...some folks...fruit cocktail...you get my point.
The original civil rights legislation is responsible for these labels. Civil rights, to me, means removing those labels, and that's what needs to be changed.
Instead of being identified as a white man, or black women, etc., why not just say, "Are you an American?"
Mininum wage increase: Why would I want to go to a restaurant and pay more for the exact same product?
Isn't it hard enough for the average blue collar American to go to a nice restaurant somewhere and be able to afford a nice meal?
To say that Republicans are selfish, and only care about our own interests is silly.

If you look deeply at economic freedom, you will see that liberty gives the best lives, not government control! Both Democrats and Republicans want to help, they just don't understand the best ways that history has shown us! Economic freedom has proven to me to be the best way to help out the people in poverty, not government inefficiencies and political waste! Economic growth comes from competitive markets, economic growth is key to the high level of living that most people in poverty have today. They can drive a 1984 Ford Tempo while people in MOST socialized countries are drinking brown water. If you really want to understand job loss understand that the democrats have driven business out of the US with government intervention. The republicans are trying to bring back economic freedom, something that the healthcare system needs to go back to in order for the highest amount of people receiving the BEST healthcare. So let me ask you, if government hurts so much, why would the democrats not want to help Americans? Oh, and allowing monopolies through governments just allows for more corruption, any educated person can inform you of this! Vote with your dollar, not through a political process!

via and massive, administration of information has been useful via fact the psychological international remains locked right into a phony verbal conflict between 'left' and 'appropriate', while the actual warfare is the conflict between man or woman freedom and the encroaching capability of unquestionably the State. The Soviet Union, with its tight censorship, delivers a strictly Marxist ('left') orientation to its voters. The enemy is often the 'fascist' country. The West is slightly greater complicated yet no longer lots greater so. while economic capability is used to administration politics, information is used to administration human perceptions.

if helping our country means supporting AND PAYING for programs which promote laziness, lack of motivation, lack of being able to choose which doctor I use, telling me how much I should earn, and a "womb to the tomb" mentality....then you are right; I cannot in good conscience lend my support for such things, because I LOVE MY COUNTRY.
