I'm travelling to Singapore in October, however am only staying for 2 days and was just wondering if I need to apply for a visa before I leave or can I just get one at the airport? Thanks

It would depend on your nationality. If you are an American, you don't need one. You'll have to have a valid passport, though. If you are not American, state your nationality as an addendum to your question and I'll try to help you.
If you are a male, regardless of the above, you may be denied entry if your hair is too long, you have an unkept beard and your appearance is "like a hippy". ( A hippy appearance would handicap a woman, as well).

Add: I've seen that you are a Kiwi. You don't need a visa for Singapore or Thailand. You need a visa for Vietnam. For Singapore and Thailand you will have to show that you hold an airline ticket to continue your journey to another country or return to New Zealand and that you have sufficient funds to cover your expenses while in the country.

Check with a travel agency in New Zealand for more information or with the airline where you are buying your transportation.
