Allure is great, it has everything about fashion and makeup, and is not trashy. And there is only a minimum of "mature" content like anti-aging creams. It has a few articles to read, mainly about plastic surgery (the good and the bad), fashion designers and icons, and how to choose a fragrance.

Another one to check out is Jane. I don't care for it because it is turning into Cosmo, but if you love Cosmo you would probably like it. It emphasizes indie music and a more indie-looking fashion than most fashion mags. It also has a lot of articles to read.

Lucky is good for looking at clothes to buy, but it barely has any articles. Glamour is basically the same thing as Cosmo, with the gimmick of calling everything Hot or Not.

Moving out of the Women's genre, Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly are fun magazines with a lot of articles about entertainment and pop culture.

I would suggest Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Elle, Nylon, Marie Claire, Glamour, Allure, and even Teen Vogue. And even though you think you're too old for Seventeen you're really not, unless you take into account the articles about high school and etc. Otherwise, Seventeen is virtually a magazine that if for every age, with health and beauty tips that are useful for anyone, even 20-year-olds.

It depends on what you're looking for in a magazine. If you're looking mostly for fashion, then it definitely should be Harper's Bazaar or Vogue. Personally, I love the clothes they feature in there.
If you're looking more on say, beauty, I would suggest stuff like Glamour or Allure. Allure takes great pictures, Glamour features great beauty tips.
If you have time, I would suggest going out to newsstands and randomly pick out magazines such as Allure, Glamour, Vogue, etc. and see which ones you like more. If you are thinking to subscribe, then narrow it down to two (after a period of time of buying several mags) then see which one you buy more over let's say, six months or so? Then subscribe to that.
I'm still reading stuff like Seventeen coz I'm still 14 going on 15, but occasionally I do flip through my cousin's mags. She's 21.

Marie Claire is a great magazine. It not only has beauty, fashion, and relationship articles, but it also has articles on current events, investigative reporting, and political issues that are important to women in the 18-30 age group.

I like Cosmopolitan for the fashion and beauty tips. I really enjoy Entertainment weekly for the movie, music, book and tv info. Plus it has alot of interviews and stories about the stars that are legitimate, not like the Enquirer B.S.
