Yes male cows are bulls. Either the producers didn't think about it, they didn't know males cows were bulls, they thought it would be funny not to change it, or they just didn't give a crap.

I was rather perturbed by this as well. A movie with such a young target audience should have been accurate!
Let's confuse our children even more.

Cartoons and fictional movies dont need to make sense. I though it was stupid at first but after seen the movie. .. i though it was perfect.
Yeah... bulls are males.. but .. we usually relate bulls are fierce, deadly, powerful.
Having them male cows gave it a more comic feeling.

Females are COWS or HEIFERS
Males are BULLS or STEERS if they have had their "jewels" removed.
But only females have utters.
Maybe Barnyard is an EOE and some masculine lesbian cows showed up at the auditions.

I was wondering that myself. I thought the adoptive father cow...lol...was a bull but i could be wrong... but it doesn't make any sense....but its a kids movie...its not suppose to make any sense...its to entertain them....but i love them...and i'm 20.
