I want to go and work in Australia. How long does the whole VISA process take??

It depends what type of visa you are applying for.

A permanent residence visa can take 12-18 months while a temporary residence visa could take as little as 1-2 months.

To get my permanent residency visa for Australia took me about 12 months from when I first started the application process, but I've heard of it taking a couple of years in some cases.

It took me 12 months to obtain an Aussie Visa, like Peter F.
I'm from Venezuela and from the moment I signed the contract with the Migration Agent to the moment I was granted the Visa 12 months passed. There was a 6 month dead period, from the moment my papers entered DIMIA (the government agency that handles this stuff), until a case officer was assigned to my case.

Depends on the type of visa you apply for but mostly about 2-3 years.....:)
