Fathers should be compelled to look after their children in an effort to tackle the breakdown of family life and discipline in society David Cameron, the Conservative leader, said today.....

Why is it always considered to be the fault of men? women have control over their wombs & the choice in whether to have children or not is geared towards females.

Isn't this is just another excuse to bash & blame men??

When the whole feminist doctrine has been saying for years that men are not needed and single parent families without male influence are just as valid, why should it suddenly all be the fault of men yet again?

The point is that if men are persistently deemed to be useless fathers -deadbeat dads - or whatever - then many men, with much justification, will see no reason to behave any differently from the way in which they and their fellow men are being depicted.

Have you heard the attitude that I have among some men? One guy I knew actually said that a girl went out and got herself pregnant. I asked him what he would do if he got a woman pregnant and he said it would be her fault because she allowed him to have sex with her. I'm sorry, but it's a two way street and I have known of so many men who have been there when the woman has gotten pregnant, but once the child came along, it's become the woman's sole responsibility. They also give the argument that birth control is the woman's responsibility. It's not; it's a responsibility that should be shared equally. Also, it's not the feminist doctrine that men are not needed. It's that women should be viewed as equal to men.

First of all let me say I don't blame one particular gender but I blame both. I believe that women should do for themselves and be independent. But I also believe that women should have known when to keep their mouths SHUT! Children are just an item in most home now. Neither parent is willing to take responsibility for their children.Let me back up...woman ask for this and men backed up and said OK rather than standing up and saying NO! We refuse to allow our woman to have to work like men, we refuse to allow our children to be be raised by five different men who are not their father, we refuse to take on the role of a woman, we refuse to step back as leaders of our own homes, we refuse to allow the society to tell us how we should raise our children so that they would grow up and end up in jail from lack of discipline, See it's not to late everyone just needs to take there place in society. In the mean time as we debate who is right and who is wrong children are acually growing up with out either parent. Their days are like this...Wake-up around 6:30 at an early age they go to daycare usally about 9 to12 hours a day without their parent(s) get home most of the time at bout 5:30-6:00. Parents, one or the other picks them up feeds them dinner, wants their own time for at least and hour, spends 30 minutes with their child and sends them to bed at 8:00 and it starts all over again the next morning. Hay when you look at it it is societys fault for the break down of society.

You are completely NUTS. You cannot blame some particular unit for creating havoc in the society. There are several other anti-social elements involved as well.
1. What about stupid teenagers who don't listen to their good and caring parents?

2. What about nasty house wives and greedy working women who create tension between other families? (There is one lady just next door to my house and for her the entire society is in cold war)

3. What about other disturbing issues in the economy? It does not matter who brings home the bacon, in this country getting a raise is like a life long wish come true.

SOMEBODY GIVE THIS GUY AN ALARM CLOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
WAKE UP AND TAKE A LOOK AT THE REAL WORLD!!!!!!
Life isn't books.

There are some species which change mating habits based on the economy.
When there is plenty (and America is a bunch of rich bastards, no pun intended but fitting),
then the males really don't stick around. They mix up the gene pool by flitting from female to female.
When times are rough, many children will die without the dad.
A famine comes along and suddenly, men make fewer kids but stick around.
A hearty economy is to blame.
Welfare, you say?
Well, damn, their survival is the most guaranteed of all.
And the subculture is the least paternally stable.
Coincidence?
I think not!

Whilst I know that girls can be a problem, it is boys who tend to be the dominant animals in youth subcultures and gang behaviour.

David Cameron is absolutely right about the need for men to be involved, rather than the matriarchal/feminist agenda of today.

I have always believed, and often stated, that when a boy gets to about 14, he needs a father (or father-figure) more than he needs a mother (or mother figure), and successful cultures bear that out.

I feel you do have a point. People who bring children into the world should be married and plan for them. Kids are expensive to raise and people who have them without taking responsibility are idiots. Children need 2 parents, I know this first hand because my husband died when mine were 3 and 5 years old and it is a tough job all around.
When you bring a baby into the world you are responsible for them physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally. The most important thing a man can do for his child is to love it's mother.

It's both parents fault for the break-up of the family unit.

Both people have the choice to wait until marriage to have sex and risk the chance of accidentally producing children.

Both people have the choice, once they have children, to make all the sacrifices necessary to raise their children in a happy home with BOTH parents.

So, it's it both parents fault when the break-up of the family leads to the downfall of society. Not one or the others.

Though, in truth, I blame the femi-nazi movement more than anything for the breakup of families in our current society. But that's another topic all to itself.

Just having a father around isn't going to automatically make everything right, having a bad father is just a big a problem as not having one.
Personally I belive the family of mum, dad and kids is best afterall you need a man and a woman to have children anyway so it makes sence to me

There are too many fatherless children, this is the fault of both the birth mother and father. The real problem is a godless society.

Your question and statement following it is one more indication of man's refusal to take responsibility for his actions. You say women have control over their wombs? What about keeping your dick in your pants or using birth control yourself? You men are just as responsible as the women for these children that are growing up without any parental supervision. Women also need to use all means of protection when they are not ready to become mothers. My ex-husband elected to make his children, but after the divorce, he completely withdrew himself from any further responsibilities to his 3 daughters. They have grown up to be very messed up individuals. Young girls need their fathers in their lives as a role model.

The morals, lifestyles, and attitudes have completely gone into the toilet. Teens are having babies at alarming numbers and having sex without any thoughts of what will happen when they find themselves pregnant. Everything that our children see and hear is geared towards being sexually active. It comes from the television, movies, reading material, and internet., and other children they play with. Our little 1st grader comes home and saying some of the most disgusting things that he is learning from other children at school.

Children need both parents in their lives to guide them morally and give them direction in life. Fathers are very important to the emotional well being of their children.
