Yes, I had just graduated from high school, got a job in a city about 40 miles away from my home and had to take the greyhound bus to work and back. My first paycheck went to rent a room in a boarding house just a few minutes walk away from my work. God bless, Martha S.

It was 1979, I was a paperboy, and I bought a digital watch with an alarm (hi-tech stuff!) This cost seven pounds which was about three weeks' wages in those days.
