Did you ever buy something too small, but were determined to get into it?

Did you ever get it to fit?
I bought a pair of jeans out of a catalog that are a little too small, but they're out of the next bigger size. I'm going to lose the weight to get into the small ones. Has this ever worked for anyone?

yes I have done that. if it is just one size smaller you should be able to do it.

I did that too. But it never worked out. And when I finally lost weight because of a depression, I wasn't interested in the clothes I bought, mainly because they didn't fit my new slender body the way I thought they should have and also because buying them to motivate me to lose weight just gave them a contrived and restrictive image that didn't make me feel too well when I wore them.
If it doesn't fit, don't buy it. Lose weight first, then you can buy new clothes with pleasure, it will be a reward (not a if-these-jeans-don't-fit-I-would-have-lost-my-money threat).

Yeah, I bought some non-strectchy jeans with rips int hem..purposely, and I still try and fit, but well...lets just say there are some new holes now...haha

yeah i did it it worked well i actually bought jeans that were hella to small like when i was a 13 and i bought i 5 !it worked but eating issues it what it turne dinto..lol..but if yyou want it hard enough it will work!!good luck you can do it!!
