What with all the flag waving and all, or am I just missing the point, and that all that is just done to annoy the Irish tricolore wavers? If you are Scottish is it possible that you support the Union as much as Gordon Brown?

Difficult question. Many of those who fly Union Jacks and Red Hand flags at Rangers games are the same ones that fly Lion Ramparts at Scotland games and sing Flower Of Scotland. Many of the ones who do both couldn't possibly sit down and have a political discussion with you, primarily because they have no idea what's going on as far as two streets away from where they grew up,let alone what has gone on and is going on in British history and religion. They're clueless. There are others who do know what's been happening and their beliefs lead them to support a united kingdom with a royal family. Those ones have usually been brought up to think in this way, and, although they could quote historical facts, are unable to think logically and come to their own conclusions. The Scots history, what with the ethnic connection to the people in Ireland but with a totally different outcome from The Reformation has become a bit murky. Not to mention a Catholic community which is essentially of recent Irish stock, but unlike in other countries, again as a result of the ethnic connection, has easily become assimilated and dropped the label of being Irish American,London Irish or whatever and simply become Scots, but with different beliefs and sent to different schools for different tutoring. And then those Protestants are supporting the protestants in Northern Ireland, who are in fact the descendants of Scots landowners that were given the land that belonged to the Irish by the English. That, incidentally,is what's called Divide And Rule.So what you're asking is not going to be answered on yahoo answers, there are tomes of books that have been written about it,and it's the kind of topic that could,if dealt with properly, get you a Masters Degree in anthropology.

Every body has there own opinion on any subject and
football is no different , I imagine most Rangers and Hearts
fans support Scotland but enjoy winding up their rivals .
