Transparency, accountability followed by HARSH punishment( jail time,as well as banished from future political roles)....Then there's always the more permanent source....Vigilante justice, which is extremely effective, but morally unacceptable (sends a hell of a message ,though ) Until the punishment severely out weighs the crime, little will change...

Constant vigil. Never believe a polition, none of them. Investigate. Check many sources. Find the truth and then spread the truth to all who will or will not listen. Expose those who are corrupt as we have been doing lately. There are probably more and some may never be exposed and caught. When we catch them they should be tried. If found guilty they should not go to "club fed" type prison but do hard time. That may deterr others. Never, ever let our guard down. The neocon Congresses either let their guard down or were part of it. Now, however we have a Congress that will excersise it's oversight responibilities and let us see how many more corrupt individuals will be uncovered. They need to start at the Whitehouse and go from there.

By not allowing corporate funding, religious funding, special interest funding, and funds from lobbying groups.
It would also help if the average "Joe" or "Judy" could run for office instead of life-long politicians. The average cost of even a simple election is around $10,000. The average person, who would like to get into politics and has a good honest approach to issues, cannot afford it.
We should make elections and all election advertisement free. That would absolutely cut down on corrupt, rich, life-long politicians.

Stop electing Democrats. Democrats are TOO Corrupt and do not care for new ideas. If the United States was ran by all Republicans, America would be a United country and not a divided country.

First we kill all the politicians (With a nod to William Shakespear)

But seriously, you can't. Politics is about influence, and with influence comes influence peddling. There is always somebody who will offer money to get things done their way, and human nature being human nature, there will always be some percentage of politicians who will take that money and run.

-Dio

You can reduce corruption, but I don't believe it is ever possible to end it.

While compared to politics, i think government officers(From IAS officers to ordinary clerk) are corrupting more than politician.

If we think practically,we cant completely make our politics corruption free. But if youths who were well educated and passion to our country comes to politics and to government officers we can control the corruption in gradual manner.
