It depends on what the people want. If the people prefer fast national development to individual rights and freedom, dictatorship is the choice. Dictatorship will help to eliminate most of the problems faced by India today like overpopulation, poverty, environmental problems etc. The nation will progress faster in science and technology and other fields. The government will be able to enforce laws that help the nation, without worrying about what the people and the critics will say. However it will also have its negative impacts, e.g. suppression of people's fundamental rights. The right person should be chosen as the leader to prevent an aggressive foreign policy.
However, if the people want their rights and their freedom, democracy is the only option. Although it may increase the gap between the rich and the poor, and may prevent the government from taking firm steps towards getting rid of national problems, it at least ensures that the people are happy, and that is the whole point of having a government. Democratic countries are also respected internationally.
Dictatorship could get out of hand and ruin the image of the country. There could be an objection in the UN. We don't want another Hitler.
Maybe communism might be a good option.

Democracy is better than the dictatorship, because in democracy atleast to some extent you can enjoy the freedom of life. But in the case of Dictatorship, those who have the power will take the Law into their hands and illtreat. The Emergency Rule brougt by Mrs Indra Gandhi, was very much essential at that time ,but because of certain persons misuse of that emergency periods power resulted ,that, the Emergency Rule will be always like this. And this the imagination have created in most peoples mind.Really it is not so.So,an example of Emergency itself has caused a lots of hardsship to the normal citizen,if dictatorship comes means all become slaves to persons who are unfit to have a rule over us.

You know who the Indian people are, you know your culture, do you have the tendency to corrupt authority? Having a dictatorship may not be all bad, provided that your dictator is morally upright, and has not the tendency to use his power for corruption, or other political misdemeanors like genocide, or oppresion. at least it's easier to tell whos the source of corruption in a dictatorship.
having a Democracy may be an entirely diffrent issue, Democracies have a tendency to be very complicated and problematic, people(politicians) tend to have a "crab mentality" in leadership. Though, having a Democracy isn't all bad. given that your constitution supports the "checks and balances" of your political system. which helps in preventing corruption, and the forwarding of bad, impartial, and corruptible legislature.
Still at the end of the day the question is, "how much integrity does your politician or dictator posses?" and "How well you excercise your rights and duties (provided in your constitution)?"

Dictatorship of political parties is all that we hav in India .Democracy is the dictatorship of political bosses.who establish their dynasty to rule over he country. In the north it is one family and in the south it is family of a dravidian party that are creating their dynastic rule .Now -a -days the politicalparties have learned to defeat the people whodefeat the parties that misrule .Even if no party is gien a majority to rule the smaller minority parties join hnds to defeat the people by forming a coalition government to swindle the public money and sharing the booty among themselves on an agreed proportion. So dictatorship has already come to stay.

It's not necessary that the law n order can only get better in India only if there's dictatorship.I mean it was due to the fundamental right of speech that resulted our GOVT. getting serious on cases like those of Jesicca Lal or Priyadarshani Mattoo. We should have strict actions but within a democracy .Strict punishments unlike what we;ve been having in the past like a police taking bribes to repramand punishments should be undertaken strictly by the Government against anyone who breaks rules n regulations.

A dictatorial democracy, where the elected representative will work like a benevolent dictator and a dictator who will democratic enough to take the opinion of the people into account. Either is OK for me.

Democracy. Dictatorship you can see in Pakistan. Pulled their growth to decades behind. In democracy corruption and politics are enemies. Otherwise it is sweet and digestable to any country.

What you expressed is actual. yet I won’t blame it on entire INC. It occurred because of the fact we Indians wrongly observed Gandhijis errors and by no ability observed his maximum appropriate innovations. it started out by ability of choosing Pundit Nehru and sacking Netaji Subhash Babu. It added has been stretched after the liberty while we skipped over Vallabh Bhai Patel. Then we started out to variety the devils democracy in India by ability of ending our Lal Bahadur Shastriji. considering the fact that then, we now have not something in our hand. you notice, a single family participants utilising the surname of Gandhiji is enjoying the region. apart from, are you hopeful with reference to the contest? i'm no longer! I misplaced my hopes while PM workplace ought to leak an significant letter of the engineer Dubay and actively or inactively being to blame for his assassination! And that too in the tenure of A. B. Vajpayee. So, the corruption, the injustice, the imbalance and so on. you pronounced are maximum appropriate, started and pronounced by ability of the family participants; yet advantageous, immediately’s BJP isn't in the willingness and in the placement to end it! different events are out of the question.
