I watched the Alabama adventure online, since I previously didn't know anything about this show. I couldn't believe these Brits actually did this to themselves! Usually folks in Alabama do this to other folks in Alabama in order to get revenge. I can't believe the Brits did it to THEMSELVES! Certainly this would have happened if tailored offensive messages were painted on cars in any state or country. It is like rubbing blood all over yourself and going swimming with the sharks. The messages painted on the trucks were tailored to bring out the worst elements and focus them on the "poor unfortunate" Brits. They shouldn't have been attacked, but I am not surprised that they were after such provocative behavior. If I had been there, I would have taken pictures and chuckled and then shook my head...whatever floats your boat, eh?

Oh yeah, I live in Tennessee; a guy on the state road here actually flew a Nazi flag for awhile--I wondered if he ever got attacked for it, because I haven't seen for a long time. Maybe he just thought better of parading a dangerous symbol and took it down. Maybe his insurance went up, who knows? Small minds are scattered everywhere, not just in Alabama. Oh, by the way, I hate NASCAR too, but I don't put up a sign about it. And there are places in Alabama where that "man love" sign would merit a proposition instead of an attack...even within Alabama there is quite a lot of diversity. There are even people with a sense of humor! (pauses for shocked gasps and sounds of scoffing). Those guys came out of it ok, and now they've learned a valuable lesson about deliberate provocation...I hope! They ought to laugh about it and swear never to do it again if they want to stay alive to a ripe old age!

Speaking as an Englishman, yes I found it funny what the top gear presenters did, but also bloody stupid. The presenters are English and probably didn't really understand the repercussions their behaviour would have, as they probably are not used to the customs and attitudes in that part of America.
The same thing could happen over here if a group of Americans decided it would be a great laugh to drive around a town in the UK with insults to the local football (soccer) teams plastered over their cars.

In short, its about respect

nicely, how conceited of you. I truthfully have been component of the alleviation efforts alongside the Gulf Coast quite a few circumstances over the final 300 and sixty 5 days, and you haven't any longer have been given any theory of the devastation. Katrina became right into a monster hurricane, and made the traditional North Sea blow look as though a mushy spring day. You of course have not have been given any clue how super that hurricane became into, and how badly it broken the infrastructure. The hurricane bothered actually hundreds of miles of sea coast, and devastated aspects as much as a hundred miles inland. that must be the equivalent of 70% of england being lashed by ability of one hundred twenty mph winds for 2 days. added, your assessment with the Asian tsunami is spurious at appropriate, given how the tsunami, poor because it became into, reached no longer greater desirable than 3 miles inland at its worst element.

I think you would get the same reaction if you drove through london in three morris miners with F**k the Queen, Arsenal are S**T and All G*YS should be shot.
It was done for a rise, it worked they knew what buttons to press. But don't slag off a whole country when everyone knows if Brits got their buttons pressed, the same thing would happen.
Actually any country.
Xenophobe.

I saw it but i reckon the show's editors did it on purpose to portray the yanks as humourless wazzocks. After Celebrity BB I really don't believe anything i see on the TV.

It shocked me but it was meant to get that kind of reaction and they were saying things like "nascar sucks" which was offensive to those people. It was rather funny but an over exaggerated and explosive reaction which wasn't on.

No it was very tongue in cheek and lots of editing and one of the best episodes I have seen them do classic!
My friend lives in that area and it is the bible belt but they are not all like that my friend is just as much fun and good sence of humour as us brits.
