I got a tattoo in november on my hip.To this day it still itches and bubbles up every now and again. It never really peeled. So now I'm wondering if it is infected or if it's just taking along time to heal?

dont sound like it is totally healed, and you also might be having a slight reaction to the ink.

Mine still itches occasionally, and i have had it for about 10 years now. so that ink and myself don't agree well with each other.

something is defiantly wrong, it should have healed in a weeks time, you should go back to the tattoo place, or see your doctor, it usually is like a slight sunburn and the peeling goes way in just a few days, there should be no bubbling, it must be somethng to do with the ink they used

You may be having a reaction to the ink. By chance, was the ink red? I had a reaction to red ink a few years ago and found out from talking to other people and tattoo artists, that red is usually the color people will have a reaction to. Try not to scratch it, that will only make it worse. Mine took a good year to heal and then I went to a different tattoo artist and had him touch it up for me. He thought maybe the ink was old that the other tattoo artist had used...that and that it was red ink and I had a reaction to it. I would go back to the artist that did your tattoo and show him or her what the tattoo is doing and see what they advise. Good luck!

I had the same problem with mine also , it seems like it takes some people longer to heal than others . It took mine about 6 mon before it really stopped itching . If you see yellow discharge coming from it then be worried about infection .. Good luck

infected.
It should itch for about a wk or so. Mine never peeled either but the itching stopped and it NEVER bubbled up. I think you should go to the dr. maybe they can give you a cream or something.

I would see a dermatologist! I am diabetic and therefore heal a lot slower than most people and I've had some pretty huge tattoos and they never took more than about a week to heal completely.

I'd get that checked out. Seems an awful long time to still be itchy.
Mine healed a lot quicker.

why do people do that anyway? that stuffs looks painful, dangerous and so wrong. maybe it's just taking long. hope nothing is really wrong though.

I'd say you better go see a doctor.
