Absolutely! It is said that the truth hurts. Well, personally I do not like to be hurt. I am not saying that I would act blind to the truth just to save my own feelings. I would want to know the truth anyways but I would still be afaid.

I used to think I wasn't at all. I was self assured, brave, confident, and the first to tell other people to go right ahead and learn everything.
Then I started having some problems with my heart beating weird. And had to have a bunch of tests. Then had to go into the hospital for more tests. I found myself really, really not wanting to think about it or ever know the truth, which really surprised me.
So to answer your question- yes. It wasn't overly rational or something I am proud of, but yes. And it all worked out OK.
