no doubt the one is a male -- females don't exibit that kind of behavior. they will get agressive with other males too. goldfish don't really bite so don't worry too much. if you see any signs of shredded tails its time to separate them though. also if the little one gets sick you will need to separate it til it gets better.

DON'T overfeed your goldfish. They are fat little pond pigs and feeding them what they can eat in a couple minutes once a day is usually enough. They will eat more but that has nothing to do with aggression. mine just ate my bamboo shrimp so im not really happy with them. they are on a diet. The do on occasion eat eachother -- but they don't usually kill each other. but if one is sick they might help their demise along.

why do you believe they are 4-8weeks old? they would be super small if that were the case and wouldn't be sold that young, so really only if you bred them yourself would they be that young.

goldfish will often chase eachother when mating, but 4-8weeks as you believe they are is way to young to be breeding or showing signs of wanting to breed. even if the fish are the same sex they may still do this as a breeding ritual (yes, that means your fish can be gay).

however, I suspect they may just be playing. as long as the bites are little nibbles and no harm is done they should be fine. however if it starts getting rough you'll have to separate them.

I truthfully have a RES who did that he ate one batch of feeders and then in no way would consume any stay fish back. He nonetheless consume all different meals high-quality stay insects, reptomin, etc. yet won't touch the fish. So now he lives in a tank with African Cichlids lol i truthfully like it that way i could have fish and my turtle. My different RES will consume something that enters her tank even your hands so the fish I put in there final perchance 10 minutes.

If there is a major size difference, there's a problem. If they're close in size, then you can just let them bully. Keep in mind, the one that is being bullied will be stressed and that may shorten her life.
A third possibility is they are mating.
I know it's too late, but the best deal is to not have a mating pair in the same tank. They will keep having babies.

Seperate them. Goldfish will eat just about anything. They love to nibble at the long flowing tails of other fish such as male betas and other goldfish.

float a tupperware bowl in the tank with fish water in it and put the aggressor inside to separate them.

Probably just a bit of minor bullying and as long as you don't see any real fin damage no harm is done.
