what decades are you looking for, that is a key piece of information?

If you want old school, you'll want Barry White, Marvin Gaye, Lou Rawls, the Isley Bros.

If you want 80's you want Luther Vandross, Patti LaBelle, Anita Baker, Lionel Richie, maybe some Michael McDonald, Guy (Teddy Riley's group)

90's you'll want Jodeci, Boyz 2 Men, SWV, Babyface

and you should know what songs are current, so I won't even get into 2000 up to now. there are a lot of songs you could use from these artists

I would say that the best artists to go for are Tyrese, John Legend, Maxwell. Those were the first people I thought of when I listened to the song you used as an example. Other artists to consider are: 112, Keith Sweat, Ginuwine, R. Kelly, and Boys II Men. Hope that helped :]

One of my favorite r&b songs is "Yes" by Floetry.

Others I like:
"Love" by Musiq
"Soon as I get Home" by Faith Evans
"Come & talk to me" Jodeci

There are so many others...but thats all I could think of at the moment. Hopefully, this helped.
