ok, number one, you should not be lifting weights everyday. Lift weights for two days, give yourself a day off, then life for two more days. Focus on your Chest and Back on Monday and Thursday, and your Arms and Shoulders on Tuesday and Thursday. You can throw a leg workout in there too. I work out 4 times a week, and I do not wake up sore. I did when I first started working out, but not now. It could be because you need a new bed. Try getting one with a pillow top. Money. Also, Your neck should not hurt from lifting weights. If it does, then you are lifting improperly. Do not strain your neck, this can cause serious injury. When you are picking up weights that are on the ground, make sure to life with your legs, and keep your back straight.

the first thing you need to realize is that your muscles need time to rest even if your not working the same muscle group two days in a row. try off setting your workouts. Mon. weights tues. cardio; wed. weights; thurs cardio, etc.
secondly, if your neck is giving you problems it could be a variety of reasons...... not enough support from your bed; incorrect form in your lifting; etc. You may want to see your physician before lifting again just to make sure there is nothing wrong and that you are not causing any permenant damage. Better safe than sorry. The whole philosophy of working out is optimal health so make sure your doing that and check with your doctor. GOOD LUCK!

I do not lift weights. I get that effect if I swell up from fluids.
Check your blood pressure for sure! Check it in morning and mid day then again in late evening.

Check your salt intake. It can cause other bad side effects also.
Do your hands sweel when you walk a mile or so? The effect of swelling can affect every major organ. Do not take risk. See a doctor if it continues for more than a couple days.

you should not be lifting weights every day in the same
body parts.

Upper body parts on one day or lower body parts on another
day, then a day off, then start over again.

you need to give your body parts a rest after a workout.

i am no expert on this, but shouldn't you be giving your body at least one day of rest, especially since maybe you are just starting out doing this?
