Your hips are starting to move out. Is this your first pregnancy? If so, it will be painful as your hips start to realign themselves to accomodate the weight of your growing stomach and eventually childbirth.
Sadly, they also don't go back to where they were before - if you're like me, you may find yourself buying new pants after you give birth.
The pain is normal, but it if it excssive to you, call your doctor and ask him what you can safely take for the ache.
It will stop soon.

No it is not, I suffered with a lot of pelvic pain especially when I was having a girl.
Its an old saying boys give you back pain and girls give you pelvic pain.
Its natural and the heavier the baby gets its the more pain you will experience.
try pelvic exercises to strengthen your pelvic.

pelvic pain is very common in pregnancy because the pelvic area has to spread apart for the birth of your baby. and sometimes this can be very painful.

I'm twenty weeks and don't feel any of that, but I'm sure it's not bad. If you are really concerned about it you can always call the hospital and ask to talk to either your doctor or a nurse that would know but they'll probably tell you that's normal.

I had alot of pelvic pain. It was very uncomfortable, it was like my pelvis was splitting apart. My doctor told me that this was common and normal.
Here is a good link that explains it all:
http://www.plus-size-pregnancy.org/pubicpain.htm
However there are instances where it could indicate a problem: http://www.merck.com/mmpe/sec18/ch259/ch259b.html
It's best to bring it to your doctors attention and see what he/she thinks about it.

I'm only 11 weeks, and I've had funny pains since conception. my doctor says it's normal. there's lots of changes going on in that area, and some of them can be pretty uncomfortable.

it could be your uterus expanding or gas/constipation .. I'm 19 weeks (20 weeks tomorrow) and I get both! Laying on my left side ALWAYS helps release the pain for me!
good luck! God bless!
