Would conservatives be more comfortable with Guiliani if Newt Gingrich was his VP?

No. Much like Hillary, Newt has been vilified by those who dislike him. Rudy's social liberal views on some issues most likely would draw some independents his way, adding Newt, who is viewed in the same vein as Rush as ultra-conservative, would only hurt his chances on widening his tent beyond typical conservative voters.

Newt? Mr shut down the federal govt. How quickly people forget the mess he and Dole made of Congress in the 90's.

What does Guiliani know beside a few connections. Is he strong on border security like Hunter/Huckabee?

Noooooo! Whatever his talents and qualifications, perception unfortunately is really what is important and Newt can only be a negative given given his general villainous portrayal in the media and perception by the malleable masses

no longer a Repug: yet the following is my opinion: McCain - maximum in all probability to win the nomination, very probably the overall election to boot. Giuliani - gained't get the nomination, professional-decision Gingrich - HAHA, please, it is the Democratic Dream! Frist - too boring. I used to love him till he all started pandering to the christians in the Teri Schiavo case. Santorum - now he will be yet another Dem Dream, can he run with Gingrich? Rice - has many times suggested she wont run. i trust she has some dirty linen she is frightened of putting out in public. Tancredo - who?

This is a good question. I think it might keep the social conservative vote from voting for a Third Party.
