I like freedom, sadly, there doesn't seem to be much of it in America, at least not the last three states I've lived in (Texas, Ohio, Florida).

Well, I was born and raised in New Hampshire, and I still live in New Hampshire. I love it and couldn't imagine not raising my own family here someday (when I have one).

I don't know if it's the freest state, but it's definitely good enough for me.

What New Hampshire has is a group actively champaigning to get 20,000 people of similar thinking to move there. I suppose there is some logic behind that - if the majority doesn't subscribe to your way of thinking, create a community where you are the majority.

It remains to be seen whether this idea ultimately leads to a freer society. For example, let's note that same sex marriage was defeated in New Hampshire last year.

Researching this a little more, I see the Free State Project even has a Wikipedia entry. The article is pretty interesting, actually:

I'd say that Nevada is the country's free'est state! You have legalized gambling, legalized prostition, no state taxes, you can smoke practically anywhere you want, you can eat for free and stay for free if you gamble enough money, and for the right $$$ you can have and do almost anything you want! And then to top it all off the moto is "what ever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas"!!!

Please get out of the country and travel! You really need to experience the world before you come back here and gripe about your "lack of freedom!" All of the US is guaranteed and afforded the same freedoms as framed in the US Constitution. Go visit Saudi or eastern Europe, or Uzbekistan, and compare their lifestyle with yours. I have been to each of these places, and you really come agross like a whiner. They don't have any of the freedoms, luxuries, or opportunities that you thumb your nose at. You *really* need to travel to places where you won't be staying at an all-inclusive resort!

Since New Hampshire is one of the "blue" states, I doubt it has any true freedom. YBIC

Sure it is.

Child molesters are free to walk the streets.

It doesn't get much freer than that. Makes me REALLY wnat to move there to raise my kids.
