Why do people think they will ever get something for nothing??? It is the drive to get something for nothing no matter who has to pay that really baffles me.

It's that liberal, left-wing, pinko, demorat idea that the world owes them a living. IF you want to see how well gov. health care works, just look at England. What a mess! YBIC

I think it starts out as a good idea and then blossoms into a crusade. Which isn't much different than any other idea that gets into the hands of politicians that "WE" elected!

You are correct my friend, and we need to change the thought process. We need to begin voting for those that worry about representing the people and not the lobbyist and party.

Universal health care is a failure in Canada and would be a failure here. Those that promote it have not looked at examples and are letting their personal aides read the resolutions to make it a bill.

Universal Health care simply makes for good politics and has no merit in a democratic system.

Where do you think the money for this kind of program would go? If you said; the general fund... You win! Right with the social security money.

I think a universal Health Care System would dramatically raise taxes. Also, it might lower quality of health care, since things that are "free" tend to get exploited. But, at the same time here's some points for adopting Universal Health Care.....

1) Poor people are already covered by Medicaid.

2) Health Insurance is usually covered by Companies. This makes it expensive, and difficult to hire and fire employees.

3) There are kids out there who can't see Doctors because their parents can't afford Health Care. All children should have access to good helath care, because our country EASILY has the resources to allow this.

4) Medical Expenses are the number 1 source of financial bankruptcy in this country. When people go bankrupt, society pays the bills.

But, on the other hand, big government is expensive, and inefficient.

So, i'm sort of torn on this issue.

I don't believe I asked for anything "free". Anyone who believes that nationalized healthcare would be free is silly. So let's not fix the healcare system at all, because some might think it's going to be free. Let's all go bankrupt trying to pay for a system that is out of control.
