Why do you choose to live in such an area?
I understand if you are military and have no choice, but why do people with free will stay somewhere that gets 25 feet of snow every year and it covers their house?
Please don't be offended, this is not meant as a slam.

There's s'no business, like snow business!!! There are no mosquitoes, no lawn to mow or rake (believe me, it takes less time to shovel than to mow) No weeds to pull and no flowers that I have to worry about dying in my flower bed. If it wasn't for snow, I wouldn't have a job. I work up north (North West Territories border) and it has to freeze the muskeg before I go to work, otherwise the camps sink into the bog. It's great pay and it is only for a short time of year that I am away from home. For about three months I can just kick back until they call me to work again. I like snow!

Not every place gets 25 ft of snow. Although we have been known to get 3ft of snow in a day but I love cold weather. I can cover up in blankets and cuddle with my husband. In a hot climate (which I have also lived in) it is too hot to do a lot of those romantic things. In a cold climate if you are cold you can always put layers on but in a hot climate you can only take off so much. When it gets too hot the A/C does not even seem to help. Snowball fights, building snowmen are just some of the perks of living in a cold climate. When I lived in a hot climate we never got snow and would literally sing Dusty the Dust Man instead of Frosty the Snowman. It is also very beautiful when you wake-up and the trees are frosted over.

I choose to live in places like this because I love the snow. When it snows like that, I can stay home with family (hubby) and make a sex day out of it.

Because the Chicago area rocks. I don't mind the snow that much, I have lived with it my whole life. The summers and falls are nice though.

Well, some of us like snow. We are having a snowstorm right now. But it's relatively warm out, so it's nice. My husband and I really enjoy winter sports. Soooooo, it's all good.

It'll take more than snow to make me leave.

They live there for the same reason you chose to live where you live.

Why do people in southern CA put up with earthquakes? Why do people in the mid west want to deal with tornadoes? Why do people on the southern east coast deal with hurricanes? Why do Texans deal with each other?

Wherever you live, there is bound to be some issue.

One thing it is interesting about places it snows is they usually get a true dose of every season.
