Well first of all putting that down in writing marks you out as a fighter. People who get really really depressed often go into their shells. So your one step ahead already.
Keep a record of things you have achieved (they may be small incidents) always worth looking at your own history occasionally to see how far you have come.
Don't know how old you are but many major targets (like owning a house) take 25 years.
Don't think you are unable to enjoy the fruits of your labours now.
Live a little and save a little. It is always important to take breaks to rest(not just a lunch I mean a holiday where the only aim is to relax)

Thomas Edison tried and failed 1000 times before he finally got the light bulb to work. Can you imagine keeping going after 1000 'failures'?
Walt Disney almost went bankrupt multiple times as he built his Disney Empire, but he kept on going.
Henry Ford had practically no education but he built the first cars in the world...lots of them.
Donald Trump went completely bankrupt some years ago and came back to have even more money than he had them
You should read the biographies of people like this. You'll see that success is never easy. They just kept plugging along, had faith in themselves and NEVER gave up. That's their secret.
A wise man once said (I paraphrase)," there's no such thing as failure...just not enough push through, not enough persistence." If you keep going, you will get there.
Read: Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill. You can get this as an e-book on ebooks.com
BTW. 60 isn't really that old. You'll be able to enjoy it if you take care of your health.

This might sound cliche and you might not want to hear it right now but believe me, anything worth having IS worth the way AND will be so much more rewarding when you do get it.
What you need to realize and recognize is that WE ALL have days like you're having but hang in there. I can tell that you are a bright and smart person just from what you wrote. NEVER EVER FORGET that things can turn around at ANY TIME and usually do. That's just negativity trying to discourage you from the reward that's due you. Shrug it off, give it the boot, it's Friday, got to the mall, buy yourself and expensive dinner... do something that you truly enjoy and picture your dreams coming true before you expect and believe me it will happen!!!
Chin up!! ***Hugs, smooches and kisses*** Be strong my sista!!!!

If you are talented you will succeed. I think your problem is that you are becoming tunnel visioned. You need to relax and have some fun while you are young. If you are clever, you can certainly afford to do this and still succeed. I'm not surprised that you are feeling depressed and unmotivated, you want things to happen too quickly. Life isn't like that and you could be in danger of burnout if you don't lighten up. Go for it but for goodness sake enoy yourself as well.

IMHO the thinking that you should only enjoy your rewards in retirement is pure bullsh*t. Every moment you do not enjoy/use to help another now is wasted.
So I say enjoy whatever it is you're doing, or screw that and find something you enjoy doing, also be aware of how your part contributes to others. If you do enjoy it, then just bask in that. Don't think of things you cannot have now. You may find many things to be grateful for, anything that puts a smile on your face.
Also, it may help to re-analyse your definition of "success". Does it really mean anything to achieve it? Would it be fulfilling to? You don't want to reach the stars and find that you liked the view better back on the ground.

Sounds like you need a book of positive affirmations--there are many at the public library :)
It also sounds like you are doing everything right! Practice does still make perfect, and you will be taking more forward steps and less backwards ones within a bit of time.
I don't know how old you are, but be aware that there are many people in their 60s and beyond who are quite active. Many still work, many practice the arts and/or sciences regularly, and many still work out, and live a healthy lifestyle.
Yes, history is only told by the winners, and you sound like you are one of those--just have a little patience. :)

To me, the secret is in how I live my life everyday. Although I do think of the future, I don't put all my hope in it. Tomorrow is not guaranteed and if you're always looking to the future, you don't get to enjoy your today. If you're working hard and doing the things you love today, then that should be enough to keep you happy. Always remember, there are people in much worse situations than you. Be happy and count your blessings that you are pursuing your dreams, but don't wait for those dreams to come to pass to be happy. Enjoy the journey. Choose to be happy and encouraged today. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello there,
Perhaps what you are pursuing isnt the field of work that best compliments your aptitude or skills. But in all sincerity what is sucess to you? Lots of money? trips around the world? Its nothing wrong with depression, it could mean the onset of change, no one stays joyful thru the entirety of life. Seek to understand the nature of GOD and his will for all of us, and the you will embark on a journey that you will find worthy of the pain and tribulation that will take place.

Plagiarising Dan Browne won't get you very far. He's a 'crazy mixed up kid' himself.
Look outside yourself. Focus on others, their needs, their joys and pains. If you do this pretty soon the black clouds will lift!
A good nights sleep can work wonders too!

Depends on what you are after, or pursuing. You should have a social circle for support. Friends and family should be your first consideration. Go to church and talk with the minister, bishop, pastor, or leader for guidance and enlightenment. Remember, God said he will never leave you nor forsake you. Your situation could be worse. Cheer up, and keep the faith. If you need help or feeling lonely, send me a email.
