Well if cannabis will be legal, Leftist would have little fun smoking pot. Right now they are "Violating unjust laws that were implemented to restrickt their freedom", and they fell like fighters with each puff. If it will be legalized, they would be conformists.

Sure it should be legal. The problem they have with it is it will be hard to tax because of all the seeds. If one person grows and sells a lot of it, and they pay taxes on it, than the people they sell it to will have the seeds and be able to grow it without being taxed. Maybe if they found a way to genetically alter it so it doesn't have seeds, and the on;y way you can grow it is to buy the seeds from the government, than maybe it will work. But it is all about the money. What harm does it actually do? The only problems I have ever seen, was when someone was smoking some laced crap, and he went into convulsions and passed out for a few hours. Bad experience that was for him. He never used laced cannabis again. If it is all natural, it is actually kind of good for your body. It helps to relieve stress, headaches, stomachaches, and a few other aches and pains. I see no problem with it at all. I am not a user, and didn't use in high school, but everyone I knew from my best friends, to my own mother were all users.

Studys by the university of califonia LA. show the long term use of cannabis causes more respirtory problems than tobbaco. Also the medical profession in the same state working with the university stated that more patients who started smoking pot in the sixties when there were no long term studys were usually afflicted with the same if not more serious chest problems than tobacco smokers. But of course its always easier to be your dealer than your doctor.
What about the man this week at the Old Bailey who was sent to prison for life for deliberatly driving into and killing a cyclist. He was allowed to plead guilty to manslaughter instead of murder because he was high on cannabis?

the government contracts studies that do not stand up to peer review, yet the DEA dumps the data out to the public and those that are too lazy to care buy it. the famous monkey brain damage study back in the 70's was really a study in the effects of CO2 poisoning. Legitimate research that does stand up to the test of peer review indicates that it has the potential for treating a myriad of neurological issues. Also, it in very difficult to label something as "mind altering" when it reacts on unique neuro-receptors designed solely for connecting with cannabinoids. Add to that, that no one has been able to cause a fatal over-dose in a controlled study, while all over-the-counter meds and most foods do have an LD50 (lethal dose for 50% of the test group).
I do appreciate that you said cannabis and not marijuana because history indicates that the target of the "marihuana stamp act of 1937" was more industrial hemp than marijuana, it was just easier to sell the marijuana idea than play a game over economics late in the great depression.

I think each person has a right to do as they want, the country should have invented a simple way of something that isn't addictive and will help people who are unhappy with their work or what they do, when canabis is available on the NHS, it should be modified to not be so absorbing and rather than killing brain cells it should create. Helping life style rather than killing it.

It's interesting that the two drugs that are the most damaging to health and society are the very two that are legal in our society. Alcohol and Cigarettes. Cannabis doesn't even come close in terms of negative side affects, both to ones health and to society. Please read "The Natural Mind" by Dr. Andrew Weil if you want more information. It's a very powerful book.

Free the weed.
Alcohol causes more problems than cannabis by far. The Dutch have it right, everyone is too stoned to cause trouble.
I love Amsterdam.

They don't. The problem is potheads aren't activists. Really hard to get fired up while stoned. Until there's a major outcry from the public, the government will not release control it has seized.
