A grand question! I've done it twice before. First time was 3 pounds. You see, I was driving on the wrong side, being from America and not thinking (although, I'm afraid, those two qualities have become synonymous). A police officer stopped me, and before he could talk to me and possibly give me a ticket, I handed him three pounds through the window. He said "good day", and walked away. I turned around and began driving on the right (well, left, really) side of the road. The second time, it wasn't exactly a police officer. It was a beefeater, and they haven't served the role of policemen since around the time of Henry VIII. Anyway, I gave him six euros to give me a private tour of the Tower of London. Ha! That sounded sexual. But it wasn't. He was only eating lunch (which I understand in Britain is pretty disgusting), and I offered him the money for a private tour. He accepted. So, in conclusion, I'd say anywhere from 3 pounds to 6 euros. P.S. I understand that some woman recently became the first female beefeater- Congrats to her!

Depends on where abouts you are in the Country. If you're in the South, you may get away with just a slapped wrist. If you're in the North, dependant on the force they may just give you a kicking or they may give you a kicking and take your money. That's pretty much the cost.

I would hope you could not.
After spending time in Jamaica (Kingston) seeing how corrupt the police are there It made me realise just how fortunate we are in UK. Unfortunately there are a few who like to come to our country and ruin things for us.
