Man that question sucks.
either way my spouse is getting screwed, since they would have to take care of me and our savings would probably get drained from it.
So I would say have the spouse die first? Is that selfish?

Well, this is a tough question. I want to die before him. I have taken care of him for 10 years when I thought he was going to die to a terrible injury. No one knows what a family goes through being a caregiver for someone ill, or the ill person having to depend on family. Not everyone can take it., All young people thinking about marriage should have a school with questions like this to answer and ponder. Life is not always like we think it is going to be and out lively hood can be taken away in a second. My husbands life as he knew it was taken away forever. You have to be strong and know that through Love anything is possible

I would rather him die ten years before me at least that would not cause him the pain of watching me die. This is all of course hanging on if the couple in question truly loves one another.

I would rather him die first I would hate to see him suffer. It would be hard to lose him, but out of the two that is really the only choice.

Uh, i pick NEITHER! I don't want to be sick before I die, especially not for a long time. Also, I would not want to be alone without my spouse. How can you expect someone to choose between these 2 options? Unless they hate their spouse and want them to die, then they might be able to choose, or if they would rather be sick and still be alive than be healthy and alone. Who knows?

I would rather him die because I know the pain he would have to endure watching me suffer for 10.

I wouldn't want to chose either.
But if it had to be chosen, the former. I am afraid of the pain of dying and know that he will go to eternal joy and I will eventually join him; also i know 10 yrs is a short time.

Die 10 years before me without him having to suffer. I have seen that first hard, and it's heartbreaking.

WOW...I wouldnt want my husband to be sick for 10 long years and watch him struggle, be in pain. I would rather lose him 10 yrs earlier happy and at peace.
