The apparatus that we will use is called a force table a circular table with it's circumference marked off in degrees from 0 to 360. Weights can be hung over the sides of the table with strings attached to a ring at the center.

1 Weight is hanging with 250 gm g at 0 degrees. We want to find out where can you place a 200 gm g weight and a 100 gm g weight so that the system balances. Try using components ot calculate the balancing angle.

Put the 100g weight at (180-x) and the 200g weight at (180+y)
Then to balance the 250g, 100cos(x) +200 cos (y) = 250
and to balance each other 100 sin (x) = 200 sin (y)
Then solve for x & y

p.s. I make it about 49.8 & 22.4 degrees away from the centre line
i.e. 130.2 degrees and 202.4 degrees
