Also, I went to check on the air filter, but I do not even know how to find where that is. My unit has no easy doors to open, or buttons to release a door. All sides are fixed, and all the ducts, inflow and outflow, are at the top. Thanks.

I haven't heard of a furnace without an air filter, so I am sure there is one somewhere. If the air flow is restricted, then the plenum would get too hot, and that would trip a switch which would turn the fire off.

Sounds like the limit switch is NOT working properly. Call an HVAC contractor. Service calls usually aren't too expensive and the limit switch is simple to replace. Some times the air filters are located at the return air vent somewhere in your house not always at the furnace unit.
