It differs greatly for every woman. My ex wife was in a real hurry to make love to me after our daughter was born and dragged me to bed 3 days after the birth. But with our first child, she wasn't interested in sex for months afterwards. I think it depends on the pregnancy and birth and on how traumatic it has been for her. There are no hard and fast rules though. When you feel right about it, it's probably the right time for you!

You are supposed to wait 6 weeks as a general rule but you don't have to. Me and my husband made love as early as 3 weeks after giving birth. Just be careful because at this point you are more fertile and can become pregnant again.

Medically 6 weeks, but sometimes birth can be traumatic to the woman and she may not want anyone poking around down there for a little longer than that. It is different for every woman.

the average is 7 weeks, but most doctors will give you the ok after 6 weeks. 90% of couples return to normal sexual activity within 12 months of giving birth.
After your 6 week follow up you're good to go. Not before. You risk infection, heavy bleeding, stress to the abdominal area, and irritating any healing tears or stitches you had.

your supposed to have a 6 week checkup with your doctor after having the baby for clearence. The doctor would then let you know when its okay to have intercourse again because they have to make sure your uterus is healing from the birth.

Six weeks is the standard answer, but that's going to depend on a lot of factors. If she's had an episiotomy, she may not be ready for intercourse at six weeks. Some women are ready sooner. She'll need to ask her doctor to be sure.

I waited until I had had my six week checkup. You will need time to heal, physically and emotionally. I actually grabbed a nudie mag for him to pass the time! Worked wonders. Now, my son is eleven weeks, and we are back to normal. Of course, only when I am not trying to catch up on sleep. Pulling back the covers is foreplay for us now!

It is medically suggested that she waits 6 weeks but she can make the judgement if she feels well enough to make love.
But it can't be rough and be patient with her if she tried but can't if she decides to try before the 6th week.
