In actuality, I've done both. Obviously, my witty replies aren't as witty as I think they are since I only have a 5 percent ratio of best answers to overall answers. And, oh yes. It astonishes me that some of these users have 40, 50 and even 60 + percent ratios! How do they do that?

Try to get it in first if I think that it's witty but if it is just answering I read through and then answer

i like to be the first, sometimes my answers are not witty and i just put anything and then go back and edit it.. first place answers always have a better chance of getting picked especially if all answers are the same...
