By taking every experience in stride. Most importantly, you need to first realize and accept that nothing or anyone is constant. That's where you start. You cannot be "you" constantly if EVERYTHING else is changing. "YOU" is determined my current situation, current mental state/strength/stability, your finances (sometimes), how much you are loved or hated.... etc. To find you however, here's what I suggest - build yourself up to be strong in mind, body, spirit, resolved, create for yourself a constant state of positivity - thinking, etc. this way although circumstances change, you will be guaranteed that YOU will make it through and remain positive, happen and grow stronger NO MATTER WHAT.

Good luck.

Oh and one last thing... don't ever forget to laugh at yourself!!! It's self therapy like no other and take time out to do the things that you truly enjoy - don't put off being happy and healthy!!

"Me" is not to be thought of as just a singularity. You have a hidden inner nature, an ever present body, and a personality that projects out from you. You are the trinity of man.

You have a flesh that thinks to one way, you have a spirit that thinks to the other, and you have a mind that reasons between the two. You are a free-will agent.

All of your components combine to become this "me." Perhaps you visualize being a different person, a "better" person, but you find non-cooperation between your members. We are all at war with ourselves.

I can only find myself, as I look to God, to find the very reason I exist in this world. I find that in whatever path life takes me I am supposed to conform to the image of Jesus Christ. Jesus was logical, wise, intelligent. He was courageous, faithful, strong. He was loving, gracious, merciful. Then I am to be all of these things also. The Spirit of God waits to bestow these gifts and more upon men and women. Seek and you shall find, ask and you will receive. Then you will have that deep satisfaction in working your gifts and being at peace with who you are, and where you are in God's plan.

Hope I did not get too religious for you. Peace.

By the time you've asked "who am i" you're already somone different. Look at a picture of you as a baby for instance. What connects you to this person who is supposedly you? Only a story, a narrative. So the only thing that's essentially you is the story of your life. And unless you want that story to be about a guy sitting there and asking "who am i", get off the PC and do something fun ;)
How am i not myself? (i heart huckabees reference :P )

There is no becoming of who you are, there is only the awareness of it.
as one of the answerers said.
the you that ponders who you are, is the you who you are.

If you want something more practical.
In your 'own' space. say these words, and "mean it" ;

" I am here"

and so it is.
meaning what you say is key.

I thought/think(at times) like you too.

I found these words somewhere once;
"don't spend you life trying to find yourself.
"create yourself"

something like that , i dont remember the exact words.

your eternal father will guide you,
and if not,
then so it is.

I hope I understood your question, thats all I can say towards it
peace.

Stop looking. Call off the search. Be still and know who you are.
You are the stillness. There is no becoming of who you are, there is only the awareness of it.

Go to a mirror and look closely into your own eyes and find the center of your soul in the moment.
There is a universe in there and it is you.

there's got to be a message in there...... if you think you are one thing and then something happens to prove you're not, then you thought wrong in the first place......

stop thinking, you cannot become yourself, you are already you....

or should your question be; how do I get to know my true self?
