Nope. He bought (or had given, if you believe him) membership in one of the German royal lines. However, his adoption by Princess Marie Auguste doesn't make him royal, and in any case there hasn't legally been any German royalty since 1918. Any claim he has to being a prince is slightly less legitimate than those guys who claim to be the heirs to the thrones of Albania or the Austro-Hungarian empire.

No, he was like adopted by a former princess or something when he was much too old to be adopted and I've also heard a bought the title, so he is even faker than Prince Lorenzo from Italy. At least Lorenzo came from a blood line of former royals. So anyway, to me he's not a prince charming, period:) LOL

He was adopted as an adult by an aged Princess of Hesse. She was the neice of Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany (he was the nephew of Queen Victoria and started WWI). So, he obtained his title through adoption, still LEGAL. However, she had many other adopted children this way as a means of supporting her income.

They say money can buy anything but love and escape from death, so the media says he bought the title. How in the world do u buy a royalty title? He's seeking media attention cause he said already on Nancy Grace that he did not want to raise the baby.He's in his 2nd childhood I think. lol

I loved him in Purple Rain. Although he has aged quite a bit. He looks nothing like he did in the movie.

he was adopted as an adult by a childless royal woman - i believe she was a duchess, which would make him a duke.
