I'm tired of people pretending like "affirmative action" repairs anything that we have experienced as a people in this country. Any-who, nothing would be what it is today without it's past. Divine law. If it wasn't African slaves building the foundation of this wealthy nation, then it would have been some other type of labor (slave or paid), but it would be something different. Who knows what we would have been without slavery..................what will we be now is the question!

no. it wouldn't. But i don't think they would have even tried to not have slavery. every empire did. the only reason they had black slaves is because the native americans knew the country better and could flee, never to be found again, and the white slaves (indentured servants) could do very much the same. However, the black indentured servants really stood out. and then, why not just enslave them forever? (a bunch of excuses were injected here to preserve morality, ranging from it's in the bible and good to Christianize the heathen, to they're not fully human anyway and would be lost without us).
but what empire didn't enslave another?

No, part of the history of this country is slavery and the Civil War; this has had an impact on the north and south states and their cultures. On the other hand, this country would probably be in the same if not better economic position and potentially would have to spend less resources on affirmative action and other related legislation, if slavery had not occurred.

Of course not! It was an immoral institution, but the history of slavery goes back for centuries. Look at the Romans...where would that empire have been without it? And ancient Egypt for that matter?
In all those cultures, including the US, cheap (free) labor was seen as a necessity for its greatness.
Isn't a bit of historical irony that the nation that founded itself on freedom was one of the last to rid itself of slavery?

Who supplies a sh!t at this element? we are the place we are and we would greater valuable concentration on immediately rather of the day in the past immediately or we isn't around lots longer. that is humorous how a gaggle of "progressives" can do no longer something yet element offended palms on the day in the past immediately.

No, they needed builders. People who was able. Back in Africa, Blacks were the King and Queens. We accessed knowledge enough knowledge to build a nation. They were informed of the abilities and Americans used their power to gain our knowledge but it was throgh degrading and beliitling.

No. I'm angry with all those lazy whites in the slave days. They should have picked their own cotton.
