Im talking about the financial symbol... not the # key !!
I cant edit documents and put the pound sign in unless i cut and paste from the web !!! VERY frustrating.

Go to Start, Control Panel, then Regional and language options. You probably have it set to US settings. Change it to UK there.

Quit worrying, it's easy:

Just hold your finger on the ALT button and go over to the numlock kepypad (that's the one with all the numbers on it. Now just type
0163 and the pouind sign will come up.

Like this/ You owe me 10 £

got it.....Alt +0163

Better get the Euro as well. € it's Alt+0128

go to control panel and set the keyboard to UK not US.
