I have recently purchased a 10 year old home and have very cold closets that are freezing. We have also 2 bedroom located over the garage that are also not staying warm thru the winter. Does anyone have any tips or tricks that can offer to help with this problem? I have replaced the windows in the bedroom which has helped a little. I have noticed that if I put my hand next to the wall that is facing the outside it feels cold. Like there might not be any insulation... but then again first time home owner so I don’t know what I am talking about! HELP

What kind of professional would you suggest I call?

If you have access, put insulation in the garage ceiling, directly below your bedroom floors. Also put weather stripping around the windows. Leave your doors open and let the air flow freely throughout your house too, that will help.

There is a very good possibility that the insulation is missing or inadequate. The trouble with trying to insulate is access. If you can not easily get to these areas to insulate, you might want to contact a professional.
