Best to get a free estimate from a builder.There are lots of hidden costs you may not be aware of.Some of these relate to building regulations which can vary depending on your councils own rules.Also there are now quite strict fire regulations meaning you have to have the correct doors and access/escape route.Your local builder will know all this and should be able to give you a rough idea of the cost.

But if you push for an answer - anywhere from Â£8,000 to Â£50,000
