No this is completely normal. If you called the doctor already and they said not to be alarmed than there should be nothing for you to worry about. Try to eliminate thing sthat you may have changed, detergent, has people been kissing the baby alot, not washing hands before touching the baby. You really want to avoid touching the babys face for these reasons but detergent has alot to do with it. Make sure you are using something that is non allergenic.

Hi, Yes, in most cases, it is. but think about it. A rash just doesn't appear. Something is causing it. sometimes the way the baby rubs against his sheet or baby blanket. Usually something they come in cont ac with. I have five children, The oldest one will be forty next month. I found out that over period of time that believe it or not. It is usually something taken internally. A formula or milk product, they are consuming. If after a period of time you are not happy with what the doctor is saying, I would look into another pediatrician. You and you alone have that control, on who or what is touching your baby.

My 6 week old has the same thing. I tried using less laundry detergent and it seems to have helped a bit. Make sure you use detergent for sensitive skin.
I have also read on this group that it could be caused by hormonal changes that your baby is going through, and that it is sort of an infant acne. However, at least on my baby, it seems more like a rash and less like blemishes,so maybe try the laundry detergent.

It could be possibly baby acne, which generally looks like regular acne.Plus this time of year(depending on where you live) the air is more dry and can affect skin condition too. However if the rash seems to be very peely, scaly and very dry I would see your doc to make sure it is not eczema. Eczema can be treated with regular ointments/creams or sometimes they need perscription creams. Eczema sometimes can be interrelated with allergies in kids.(not everyone w/ eczema has allergies and vice versa) Hope this helps, good luck.

My daughter gets a red rash along her chin and her cheeks from spitting up. I make sure I wipe her face with a wet wash cloth. Our doctor recommended hydrocortisone cream 1/2% twice a week to help clear up the rash. It worked great!

It sounds like eczema. Keep it very moisturized. If it continues as he gets older then the doc can give you a script for cortizone cream. If so, use as little as possible. My son has it and it gets worse in the summer. I use the cortizone cream on it. They told me that if you use it too much like everyday and alot then it can turn the skin white. But if you use it correctly it's fine. I just keep a tube for when it flares up. In the mean time you have to kepp it moisturized with a hevier type cream or lotion. I use that udder cream. You can get it at the pharmacy . It comes in a tub that looks like a cow.
