I'm not looking for partisan talking points here...from either side of the issue...just an honest assessment of the effect of the resolution on the "insurgents" and Al Qaeda.

Put yourself in the insurgents shoes... Of coarse, they will be very happy with that resolution if it passes. There is no way around that fact no matter what good intentions the Democrats may or may not have. This sends a messege to the terrorists, infighters, and insurgents that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. jason

The only thing that will make the insurgents happy is a total and complete withdrawl of infidels from their sacred land. They want to live in the 14th Century and handle their problems as would have been done then. Let them. Let us move on with progressive legislation that rids us and the rest of the world of dependence on their oil by 2010. Americans have proven over and over we can do remarcable things. Why not give incentives to those who can develop, design and build affordable alternatives to fossil fuel? If it weren't for the O I L we wouldn't give a rat's behind about any of those countries. Bush and Cheney are waist deep in the oil business and so look where it has gotten us. Get out and stay out and we'll not have attacks there or here.

I do not know what you are looking for but I think you should be looking for an honest answer to your question. The fact of the matter, it encourages the enemy to move full speed ahead and to increase the attacks to discourage those American people that are wanting a positive result in Iraq and to ENCOURAGE their American allies (the left wing media and politicians) to put pressure for the withdrawal of our troops, which will insure the terrorists a victory in Iraq. Any rational person could figure this out for themselves.

If they are smart, things will quiet down.... then the Dems can push for the complete surrender/withdrawal that they so desperately want. Then the TERRORISTS can do whatever they want because we won't be there to stop them. Next Stop... a major metropolitan city near you!

Don't you mean the Dems/Rep's resolution? There are people on both sides supporting this.

What does their resolution say to the troops?
As they say they are fighting and doing nothing?

The same as the added 20k troops, nothing ......in the long run...However ,a resolution concerning the definition of "high crimes and misdemeanors" (and how they apply today) will in fact straighten out many, many things...

I just hope it emboldens the republican party half as much as it emboldens al Qaeda!

They will be dancing in the streets because the one thing that kept them in check more than any other will be removed from their path and they will be free to do all the damage they can possibly do again...including waging war against us on our own soil.
