i belong to a book club, and some of them have "book1" or "book5" written next to them, but some do not...was wondering in what order should you read the entire series?

This is the order in which the books take place, though not always the order in which they were written (The prequels were written AFTER the first book, but take place BEFORE it).

Countdown#1: The Rising (prequel)
Countdown#2: The Regime (prequel)
Countdown#3: The Rapture (prequel)

1--Left Behind
2--Tribulation Force
3--Nicolae
4--Soul Harvest
5--Apollyon
6--Assassins
7--The Indwelling
8--The Mark
9--Desecration
10-The Remnant
11-Armageddon
12-Glorious Appearing
13-Kingdom Come: The Final Victory (coming April 3rd)

I do have several books out of the series and was hopelessly addicted until about book number 5 or 6. It went from probable nonfiction to utter nonsense. Maybe it's the fact that I'm a pentecostal preacher's wife and know a little bit about the bible, or it could be that I just grew disenchanted. Either way, I think they are at best, entertaining no matter what your views are. They pose some very real questions about the end times and made me think hard about some of the choices I've made in my life. If you want to get real deep, they will make you question your own beliefs. If not, and you're just looking for good reading, I don't think you will be disapointed. Just keep in mind that they are fiction and much of what is depicted is based on the author's perception of the end times and not necessarily the way it will actually go down. As for the anti-christ, nobody knows exactly where he will come from. The most we're given out of the bible is somewhere in the middle east or Europe. If you want a score based on a 1-10, I think I'd give it an 8 for entertainment value but a five or 6 for biblical accuracy. I hope this helped.

I agree with J/Metro. That's the correct order, and they need to be read in order. With the possible exception of the prequels, which could be read before or after the rest of the series.

If you read the kids series, read them in order as well, but after the adult series because they will reveal a lot of the adult series, but the kids aren't even mentioned in the adult series.

Both series are awesome, and I really enjoy them. Stay away from them if you hate Christian-related things though, because they are very Christian. The movies don't do the books justice, though.

Beginning to end is usually the best idea.
