Rabbits can live anywhere from 0 days to 12 years. I have had a rabbit live 9 years outside and was still going strong but then I had to sell him. It depends on how the rabbit is taken care of.

I believe that our colleague, don 1 was demonstrating an estimate of the hundreds of rabbits ( all called CLAP, for some reason) that could be produced by two rabbits and their successors over say 6 years. This is assuming that all the rabbits live and breed for 5 to 7 years, each female producing about 4 to 6 little bunnies every 4 months!
Perhaps there is a mathematician out there, who can come up with a good estimate of total 'bunny mania' over, say 6 years! We would have to assume that each female produces say 9 daughters a year.

pet rabbits live 8-12 years depending on their size smaller rabbits like the nether land dwarf may live 10-12 years where as the larger breeds like the french lop or the British giant will only live 6-8 years so the standard rabbits like Rex's and English rabbits should live about 8-12 years if they have no health problems, or have any accidents.
hope this helps you

It does depend on how well you look after your rabbit. But the average time I was told was 5 - 8 years for a dwarf lopped ear.
However he is now over 7 years old and very healthy. My friend has a rabbit which is 12 years old and healthy.

It all depends on the breed, the kind of care the rabbit has had and the kind of stress it is exposed to. The larger (Giant) breeds tend to live 5-7 years. Medium breeds (5-10 lbs.) and dwarf breeds tend to live 8-10 years. But I've had rabbits that lived til 15 years,(Outdoors). Things that can affect longevity include breeding, showing, illness (including cancers and infections) and genetics (some rabbits are prone to heart attacks and strokes, some breeds are more prone to certain injuries and weaknesses.)
Before getting a rabbit, consider talking to breeders or rescue people to get a good feel for how to best care for a rabbit. They are wonderful companion animals.

usually about 6 to 10 years although I have had one live til it was 13. You have to feed your bunny the right food not just rabbit mix it has to have a balanced diet of fruit and vegetables. I exercises mine everyday maybe not as long as I should but I do it. I must admit it is hard to let them get 4 hours of exercise but sometimes I just don't have the time. You must let your bunny 'romp' everyday though, well as much as you can.
So about 6 years on average.

According to the House Rabbit Sociey, bunnies that live indoors and are properly cared for can live for 8 - 12 years. See:
http://www.rabbit.org/fun/life-span.html
They are wonderful pets and like any pet require daily care and attention. If you are considering getting a rabbit, please consider adopting one of the many rabbits in need of a forever home. And check out the sites I've pasted below for information on care, behavior, and health.
